A school principal in British Columbia has taken his school's ban to a new level by setting up a cell phone jammer. There was only one problem - the device is illegal in Canada. The director ordered the Chinese machine online, but some angry students quickly found out and told him it was breaking the law. So much for that idea. Now it looks pretty bad, while cell phone use in school seems like a kind of civil right to some students.
Some countries allow companies and government organizations to install signal jammer in areas where cell phone use is considered a public disturbance. In December 2004, France legalized cell phone jammers in cinemas, concert halls and other places with gigs. France is finishing a technology that will divert emergency calls to emergency calls.
